To truly become a healthcare advocate for Chinese Americans, CADA is keen to identify the healthcare problems in the Chinese Communities. Through our community outreach, CADA has found many healthcare disparity issues involving Chinese Americans, including the lack of medical care for our seniors, lack of medical care for the Asian Americans who are uninsured or with low income, lack of understanding of US healthcare policy and system, and lack of quality care because of language and cultural barriers. By working with different partners, including Asian American Healthcare Initiatives, CADA is scheduled to meet with Maryland Senator, Barbara Mikulski, in March 2009 to discuss various ways to address the Asian Community healthcare concerns.
